BACE, Evalan’s new IoT connectivity solution uses Microchip’s CryptoAuthentication™ secure element, the ATECC608B TrustFLEX, to secure its IoT solution.

BACE is a product that allows you to connect assets quickly, easily and securely with a data platform in the Cloud.
Extra layer of security
The goal of BACE is to build a connection between assets and the Cloud. It consists of an IoT module and a cloud application. The BACE module can be connected to an asset and retrieve data from the asset. BACE then communicates this data via the LTE-M network, part of the 4G infrastructure, to Microsoft’s Azure Cloud. To make this communication even more secure, Microchip’s ATECC608B TrustFLEX secure element has been implemented in the BACE module. Each module stores a unique encryption key on the ATECC608B TrustFLEX secure element. This provides an extra layer of security and reduces risks. The unique encryption key ensures that the entire system is not at risk when one of the modules is compromised. The encryption key is created using procedures available in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. It is one of the most advanced security techniques currently used in everyday IoT solutions.
