Commissioned by Vitens, EVALAN has started testing a new real-time monitoring system for water pipes. A distributed measurement system developed by EVALAN is used for this. This system collects measurement data from the network and analyzes this data in real time. The purpose of this system is to detect and quickly locate problems in the network in real time.
To increase the accuracy of the system, transducers were used that register the vibrations of valves and send this data to the central database. These vibrations can be correlated to the daily pattern of water flows through the network. The photo shows an example of a sensor
