Evalan enters into a partnership with KPN

Evalan has concluded an agreement with KPN for IoT Connectivity. As part of this agreement, KPN is adding Evalan’s IoT solutions to its “KPN Things Device catalog”. With the addition of Evalan’s IoT Modules, which communicate via LTE-M, KPN is expanding the device catalog to applications that cannot be operated with LoRa, such as IoT applications for mobile assets. With this partnership, Evalan connects to a valuable platform with which products can be offered to the IoT market nationally and internationally.

Evalan develops respiratory rate sensor for European project NextPerception

Evalan develops respiratory rate sensor for European project NextPerception

A new European project, NextPerception, is developing intelligent sensing technology for the next generation of solutions for the healthcare and automotive industry. On the one hand, the focus of the project is on patient-centered care, in which improved monitoring systems aim at early detection and prevention of deterioration in health. On the other hand, sensor solutions are being developed for the automotive industry to improve pedestrian safety and automated driving. During this project, Evalan focuses on the first use case, healthcare, and is developing a respiratory rate sensor specifically for cardiac care.

Evalan delivers 250 new Check-In Terminals to Handicart

To properly manage the golf carts, Evalan has developed a fleet management system that enables Handicart to manage the fleet remotely and to arrange the rental of the carts more easily. This fleet management system consists of a Portal and RFID terminals with which users can make reservations and check in. The system is used satisfactorily and has recently been extended with new functions. Handicart has therefore asked Evalan to supply 250 new terminals.

Energy technology development within EU project successfully completed

Energy technology development within EU project successfully completed

Evalan participated in the European project Energy for Smart Objects (EnSO). The project, which was recently successfully completed, focused on an indispensable part of an IoT device; energy. The aim of the project was to develop Autonomous Micro Energy Sources (AMES) for IoT devices to extend battery life with as little energy as possible. As a result of this project, Evalan created a Smart Care solution consisting of the combination of a wireless sensor network and a wearable sensor that monitors various physical parameters. The focus was on reducing the energy consumption of both the wearable sensor and the bGrid node, the sensor that forms the basis of the eponymous wireless smart building sensor network.

New IoT development project for monitoring intake tube feeding

New IoT development project for monitoring intake tube feeding

The European innovation program Eureka has started a new project, of which Evalan is part. For 3 years, 18 organizations from different countries will work working together intensively on this FoodFriend project to develop technologies that can better measure the influence of food on the human body. This concerns both the intake of food and its absorption by the body.

Real time monitoring leg loading in revalidation with IoT

UMC Utrecht asked us to develop an IoT solution that helps physiotherapists gain insight into the physical load of their patients during revalidation. Physiotherapists try to guide revalidating patients as much as possible and get them going as soon as possible. But how do you know whether the leg, hip or ankle load is too light, …

Breath analysis to diagnose respiratory diseases earlier

Breath analysis to diagnose respiratory diseases earlier

Evalan has contributed to a new development in the field of IoT in healthcare, namely the analysis of exhaled air to diagnose diseases. The product of Breathomix, the SpiroNose, aims to diagnose lung diseases, such as asthma, COPD and lung cancer, but also other diseases, and to have them treated more specifically. For this innovation, we developed the sensor system and the device that collects and transmits the measurement data.

Starting the SINTEC project

Starting the SINTEC project

On the 16th and 17th of January we joined the kick-off of the SINTEC project (Soft Intelligence Epidermal Communication Plaftorm) in Sweden. The aim of this project is to develop two new techniques: stretchable pcb’s (printed circuit boards) and communication through fat tissue. Evalan will combine these techniques to realize practical and effective solutions for healthcare.

Evalan is participating in the development project SINTEC

Evalan, an Amsterdam-based company focusing on IoT innovations, is participating in the SINTEC project (Soft Intelligence Epidermal Communication Platform). This project focuses on creating a new smart patch. This patch is made from flexible, stretchable circuit board technology and can measure important bodily functions that are sent wirelessly through the skin to a smartphone. The eight participants in the project aim for these patches to provide support in health care and the sports sector.
